We are seeking an outstanding, inspirational and ambitious Teacher of Mandarin to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional classroom practitioner to inspire a love of languages and Chinese culture, develop confident communicators with global perspectives, and contribute fully to the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the College.

Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding Mandarin teaching across the relevant age ranges, including preparation for IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes as the school expands.
Inspire pupils to develop fluency in Mandarin and an appreciation of Chinese culture and traditions.
Create engaging, challenging and inclusive learning experiences that cater to a range of abilities.
Monitor pupil progress through effective assessment, feedback and target setting.
Support pupils through pastoral care and form tutor responsibilities.
Contribute to curriculum development and the growth of the Mandarin programme.
Lead and support language enrichment activities, cultural events and educational visits.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold the Brighton College values of Curiosity, Confidence and Kindness.
Contribute actively to safeguarding, wellbeing and the wider life of the College.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chinese, Mandarin or a related discipline, with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred. However, candidates with substantial relevant teaching experience will also be considered.
Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin and strong English communication skills.
Experience teaching Mandarin in a school environment.
Experience teaching IGCSE and/or the IB Diploma Programme is desirable.
Proven track record of delivering excellent teaching and strong pupil outcomes.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language learning.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
International school experience or an international outlook is desirable.
