We are seeking an outstanding, inspirational and ambitious Teacher of Science to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional classroom practitioner to inspire curiosity and scientific enquiry, develop critical thinking and practical laboratory skills, and contribute fully to the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the College.

Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding Science teaching across the age range, including specialist Science in Prep School and Biology, Chemistry and Physics in Middle and Senior School.
Teach all three sciences at Key Stage 3 and develop specialist teaching within your discipline as the department grows.
Develop pupils' scientific thinking, practical skills and ability to draw evidence-based conclusions.
Plan and deliver a rich programme of practical investigations with due regard to laboratory safety.
Create an engaging, inclusive and academically rigorous learning environment.
Monitor pupil progress through effective assessment, feedback and target setting.
Contribute to curriculum development, including IGCSE and IB Diploma Science courses.
Lead and support STEM enrichment activities, science clubs, olympiads, competitions and educational visits.
Support pupils through pastoral care and tutor responsibilities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold the Brighton College values of Curiosity, Confidence and Kindness.
Contribute actively to safeguarding, wellbeing and the wider life of the College.


Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a closely related scientific discipline, with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
Ability to teach all three sciences confidently at Key Stage 3, with specialist expertise in one discipline.
Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE Science.
Experience of teaching the IB Diploma Programme is desirable.
Proven track record of excellent teaching and strong examination outcomes.
Strong practical laboratory skills and commitment to safe working practices.
Experience working with pupils for whom English is an additional language is advantageous.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
International school experience or an international outlook is desirable.
